Founder of Neuro Buzz and BeelieVA, and someone who spent years thinking I was doing something wrong every time I joined a new business community.
The ND business community is massive, and yet we’re under-represented everywhere we go
I've been in the big communities, the tiny Facebook groups and everything in between. The same patterns are everywhere (and I do love spotting patterns!)
You’re either totally ignored, or completely overwhelmed with messages, ideas, resources, links, training sessions and pushy DMs for days.
I’d spend hundreds of £, get no further forward with my business challenges, and nobody ever, EVER, noticed when I left.
But I still wanted a community while I built out my business support agency BeelieVA (LINK).
A community where I didn’t feel so alone (or overwhelmed). Where I could ask questions and trust the answers.
I kept coming back to the same question…
As it stands…we have 3000 in the community, so quite a lot, then.
I'm not neurodivergent curious. I’m not getting rich off the business owners inside Neuro Buzz (I wish!).
I have ADHD. I’m menopausal and I’m hectic from running two businesses.
Every day, I’m figuring out my own brain at the same time as everyone else's.
I know Access to Work inside out, because I've had to.
I'm currently writing a book about all the stuff nobody warns you about when you're building a business and untangling your own head at the same time.
None of that makes me an expert who's above you.
It makes me someone who's still in it, same as you.
I'm not running Neuro Buzz from a stage, telling you what worked for me once and hoping it lands. I'm in the group. I see who's asking questions and who's gone quiet. I know what it's like from both sides, because I've been the person nobody noticed, and now I'm the one making sure that doesn't happen to anyone else here.
There isn’t a qualification for this stuff, but if there was - I passed it with flying colours because I’ve lived it.
I’m still living it.
And I’m building what I need at the same time as building it for what you need, too.
Thanks to Neuro Buzz, I have somewhere to go to get answers when I need them.
I’ve met hundreds of ND business owners, and speak to them daily. I know what they need, I spot gaps in their knowledge and introduce them to people who can help.
I notice when someone's gone quiet and I check in, because I remember exactly what it felt like when nobody did.
I've watched people go from lurking, too scared to post in case their question was daft, to running masterclasses for the rest of us. And every day I get the same reassurance that every other ND business owners needs:
You don't need to have it all figured out before you show up.
You just need somewhere that notices when you do.
